Desert Tour

Day 1
Arrive Ben Gurion Airport, greet and assistance by Holiday Travel representative and transfer to your hotel in Tel Aviv area.

Day 2
Early morning drive south to the Negev and enjoy an authentic brunch and continue to the Sde Boker area.

Our first desert experience is a short afternoon hike on the Mt Sharonim trail, overlooking the beautiful, breathtaking view of the Ramon Crater. Then have a break to watch the sunset and have our first Bedouin tea. Arrive to one of the kibbutz in the area for dinner and overnight.

Day 3
Start the day with a desert mountain biking experience, which will take you through Sde Boker down into the Tsin Valley to Ein Akev, the area’s largest and most significant water spring. By noontime leave the bikes and begin a hike from Ein Akev to Ovdat, an ancient Nabatean city. Return to the kibbutz for dinner and overnight.

Day 4
Biking along the camel routes and through old agricultural terraces we will cross the Ovdat dry riverbed and into one of the biggest vineyards of the region, the Negev Mountain Vineyard. Climbing up to Mount Nafha we will follow the Shepherd’s trails. Tonight dinner is served in a Bedouin camp, where you spend overnight in a traditional tent.

Day 5
Today join the preparation of a traditional Bedouin breakfast, and then back on the bikes ride through HavaWaddi and onto one of our week’s highlights, the beautiful scenery of Machtesch Ramon, a unique crater made by natural erosion processes. Dinner and overnight in a kibbutz.

Day 6
Your last day of expedition will start with hiking from Mitzpe Ramon village south on the cliff of the crater down through NakebSarabit, and into the heart of the Ramon Crater.

Hike through this unique geological phenomena all the way to the Ramon Wadi, and continue biking through one of the most famous stations along the Nabatean spice route. Leave the bike for a short hike in the Nekarot dry riverbed and return to the kibbutz for dinner and overnight.

Day 7
Today enjoy a day of relax andmeditation, in the afternoon transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for departure flight.
